International Coastal Cleanup Day is celebrated with beach, reef and coastal cleanups around the world! Spearheaded by two Ocean Conservancy members, this movement started about 30 years ago when communities rallied together with the common goal of collecting and documenting the trash littering their coastline. This celebration of our planet’s coastal health is an amazing effort to protect our oceans and spread awareness of it’s major threats, like plastic pollution! Maui will be hosting multiple community beach cleanups this Saturday through many different organizations and eco-conscious businesses. Find a cleanup near you!
